I know my Depression is due to my living conditions (I'm NOT homeless) which I have no control over. Can ANYONE Please provide me with ANY Organizations or Foundations that can/will HELP me with RENT or Housing to help get out of this Depression due to my Lifestyle change due to my Epilepsy? It's very hard to live on $914 a month from SSI. I didn't qualify for SSDI due to not enough Work Credit over the PAST 10 years which 7 years was due to lack of work from my Seizures. I asked if they… read more

I'm on SSI also, I'm off work now I chose to, anyway you can work part time up to your SSI amount, I did for 3 and 3/4 yrs, I took off 1 hr of my wages from my SSI so that you don't accidently go over the amount, my suggestion your call, good luck,

Thanks, I've been checking out those websites. They have a lot of other informational info. I told my daughter I had to move to be in the city close to a bus line so I can get out and volunteer and help inform people about Epilepsy. Everyone seems to know that Pink represents Cancer, but aren't to many people aware of what Purple represents and I let everyone I know and come around be.

Hi @A MyEpilepsyTeam Member , You could look at the Epilepsy Alliance Louisiana website about their client assistance programs & on the website you’ll also find information for other Support resources they offer, as well as support groups & events. Their website is www.epilepsylouisiana.org. Another option is you could contact your local Epilepsy Foundation & let them know your situation & what kind of assistance you’re looking for & see if they could help you. You can go to www.epilepsy.com & look up their information & you’ll find their contact information but for some reason they apparently don’t have their own website but they do have a Facebook page called “Epilepsy Foundation Louisiana” & on that page you’ll see their contact information & see what support groups & events they offer. Did you use a disability attorney when you applied for disability? If not, you might look at speaking with one & see if they could help you. Good luck. Your friend in Texas, Becky
