I am concerned if I go back to the theater the seizures will come back. The specialist says only one way to find out. But if I go by myself and passout then what?! Suggestions?!

I’ve found that I’m sensitive to light!! Any kind of light including television and my cellphone and anything that flashes like if I happen to drive just like a short distance..which I don’t drive anymore. Lights will cause me to go into a seizure immediately. By the way my name is Stacey Brown I’m new to this group and you’re welcome to read my story.

You maybe experiencing the strobe light effect from the changes colors and flashes on the movie screen . It’s even possible, that the loudness and sound effects are triggering your seizures.

If you go to the movies again maybe try wearing a pair of earplugs and maybe try wearing sunglasses.

Those stage lights are brutal for anyone sensitive to light. I've been photosensitive since my diagnosis. When I was in highschool and there was something going on in the auditorium, the stage lights were unbearable. I had to leave every single time. Actually being under them was even worse.

I was music director for a show at my local theatre a few months ago. The moment they started dress rehearsals with the house lights down and me sitting in the dark with the bright stage lights on and off, I had seizures. I started putting my hands over my eyes during the times that I figured were going to be flashy. In movie theaters the flashing lights generally occur in the previews, but I’ve had good luck during an actual movie, where flashes are rare. Try closing your eyes during the previews and see if you can watch the actual movie!

Anyone sensitive to light would have one pretty easy in there, unfortunately.
