@A MyEpilepsyTeam Member This is wrong. While focal seizures are very unlikely to do damage to the brain generalised seizures can especially if they become prolonged or it is a Tonic-clonic. A doctor will tell you the same thing.

Who died and made you god? You only know about YOUR experience. Stop demanding that you know all. You don't! Seizures most certainly do cause brain damage in some people! Get educated! AND you are not an expert so speak ONLY about YOUR experience!

@A MyEpilepsyTeam Member some seizures most definitely do cause brain damage and some cause memory loss. Mine have most definitely caused brain damage. My IQ has gone down from the first testing I did in 2005 leading to brain surgery and 2015 for VNS implant surgery. My hand coordination also got worse.

It is my understanding that brain lesions cause Epilepsy. I too have brain lesions. Mine is cortical dysplasia on the right hemisphere. From the small amount of info I have been able to find, I have learned that the dysplasia I was born with can get worse over time. That would explain to me why my seizures are not controllable with ANY anti seizure med. NONE. Marijuana is the only medicine that has ever given me days with zero seizures.

@A MyEpilepsyTeam Member I'm not too sure what you mean by saying I'm confused, because you essentially just repeated what I said.
