I’m the same. I too have insomnia along with my Epilepsy. I’ve tried Melatonin, it didn’t work. My Epileptologist added a AED ( anti epileptic medication ) med that has the side effect of making me tired. It worked for awhile . But my body adapted to it and stopped working.

@A MyEpilepsyTeam Member , I see you’re taking Keppra. In 2019 I took Keppra for 2 months & it made me so tired that I had to take a nap every day & then I started having trouble sleeping at night & so I got off the Keppra. So if you’re still taking the Keppra, it’s possible that could be part of your problem having trouble sleeping. I’ve been on Vimpat since November 2019 & I don’t think it’s caused me to be tired. I’m also on Depakote & have been taking that for probably a little over 15 years. Be careful with the Dilantin cause I understand it can harm a person’s gums like it did my Dad’s & others on this site have complained of the Dilantin giving them dental issues. Good luck. You may want to get checked out for sleep apnea. If you have it, they can set you up with a CPAP machine to help you sleep better and also possibly take you off of the Aptiom since that is supposed to help with your sleep. I know that is what they did with me. Sweet dreams 🛌 💤🛌🥱
