Lamotrigine And Levetiracetam Side Effects
A MyEpilepsyTeam Member asked a question 💭

Hello everyone, can anyone tell me about their experience taking lamotrigine and levetiracetam together? I am starting this treatment together and I am very sleepy, weak and dizzy. Is this normal?

Hi AlejandrAcha
I am on both Lamotrigine and Leviteracetam at high doses plus Fycompa. I am always tired, I sleep at least once a day if not twice. I deal with the tiredness because this drug combination has made me seizure free.
Good luck to you!

Lamotrigine gives me energy and no appetite. I get a flat mood on some. The manufacturers are different and I can tell the difference. Otherwise been good.

I've taken both meds together but the Keppra soon stopped helping and caused emotional problems. I've been on lamotrogine - with other meds and find it just makes me dizzy

Lamotrigine, I was on it for a while. If it’s making you sleepy. Maybe you
need to take it with Food. I can’t remember that far back. It was only one of several different medications
i was on at one time; they where trying to find one that didn’t give me seziure’s. Lamotrigine, Lymicktail, and there was one that made me want to kill myself. It was bad i told my mom about it. The medical people said to stop taking it.

I take lamotrigine and phenobarbital. I stay very tired. I'm not sure which was causes that though. They said that I would get used to it and no longer feel like that but unfortunately that has happened yet
