I have tinnitus alot and feel that the vagal nerve stimulator is causing it.
Hi, Randy, I don't use the magnet atall since VNS was installed but my seizures have become much better since I had it.
Hi Sean, I know that the vagal nerve is a long nerve that starts on your brain then goes goes down the left side of your body to your intestine, so if you lie down on that side it may effect it, or wearing tight clothes can put pressure on it, when I have my VNS looked at next I will ask for it be changed in the battery level, now it helps keep my seizures controlled.
After the VNS surgery you might have a little trouble in the early stage, trying to talk, when the VNS when the electric pulse is go off from the stimulation box. Another thing you might experience from the electic pulse it a form of a cough.
For me I when I did the VNS , the trouble with talking and coughing went away. The only other I would cough , was after the magnet was use on me during the seizure.

My doctors never gave me any precautions with the VNS so I just ignored that it was there. I now have the RNS and don’t have the VNS anymore so things could have changed since I last had the VNS which was 6 or 7 years ago. It’s good that the VNS is helping keep your seizures controlled. The VNS didn’t help me so I had a second surgery getting it removed.
