Anyone Else Super Fidgety?
A MyEpilepsyTeam Member asked a question 💭

Hi I realized I'm super fidgety to the point where my fiances mom doesn't sit next to me because it makes her sick and I don5 know why I do it, I got yelled at work because I had to constantly be using my hands or shaking my legs. I was wondering if this could be connected to epilepsy because I've been like this forever since I was diagnosed and don't realize I do it. I don't know why I do it.

I do pace but I think it is me being hyper. I have a lot of energy. I think I could run in my sleep.

@A MyEpilepsyTeam Member it almost sounds like you’re having absent seizures or petite mal. When id have one my mom said id smack my lips like i was trying to talk and pull and my shirt, i even turned in a circle, but its been years.

I have the constant tremors of the left half of my upper body. But my ‘figeting’ actually occurs as restlessness, which turns into getting up and pacing. I’ll think of something I want to go do, get there, and then return to where I’d started because I can’t remember what it is. The place I have a twitching is my face and eye lids, which has been going on for years to some degree. But my neurologist they are all symptoms of my disease, and NOT seizures in themselves.

I used to think that I was always very fidgety myself. As it turns out I have what is known as an essential tremor. It gets more active if I focus more intensely on a particular task. To alleviate this I have learned over time to use deep breathing exercises to calm my brain and electrical stimulation process.
