My Daughter Is On High Doses Of Keppra & Zorontin, She Is Having Rapid Weight Gain And Depression. Has Anyone Experienced This.
Tryna is on 2000mg of zorontin and 4000mg of Keppra, my daughter also has stickler syndrome which is a connective tissue and joint disease which has stunted her growth. At the age of 17 she is 4ft 6. She is developmentally delayed with a mentality of about a 6 yr old. Tryna is our happy laughing and usually hyperactive child. I’ve experienced this with keppra and topamax. I gained 60+ pounds, but this cocktail controlled my epilepsy. I no longer take keppra because of this. My neurologist was instrumental in me trying out new meds. I’ve lost over 80+ pounds. I’m now on zorontin and have had no side effects.
My side effects:
Keppra: weight gain
Topamax: tinnitus (ringing in ears)
Both meds: Depression
I’ve lost the weight with exercise, Accupuncture/massage and dieting; depression is a never ending battle.
