Kaylo,
( totally understand your feelings and reservations but I am here to tell you don't! Try no to worry about attending college and you having seizures. I started having seizures when I was 11, have never been seizure-free and have done pretty much what I wanted to do within the limitations presented us by Epilepsy. I informed my professors and close friends of my seizures. I thought someone needed to know in case I one in class. I had no problem with any of my professors about it. The attitude I had as I was growing up and still today is that Epilepsy is just a part of me - not something that runs my life. I have control over it in that I make "detours" if you will around whatever limitations I may have from it such as not being able to drive. In accepting I have Epilepsy, that includes me accepting not being able to drive but it doesn't mean I will have to sit in the house the rest of my life. There are other ways to get somewhere other than driving yourself. Afterall, not everyone has a vehicle to begin with. I suppose I have rattled on enough but PLEASE ask me any related questions to this you can think of. I would be happy to try to help you. Hopefully a new friend, Deborah5

Congratulations on graduating!
The professors will find out wether you tell them or not.
Unfortunately it is scary and you may feel alone at first but be yourself and you'll be fine
I know your scared but don't let it stop you .
College is the beginning of a new season in your life.
It will prepare you for working in the real world.
Even people without seizures are afraid of starting college simply because it is new and unknown.
Consider journaling how you overcome the fear and anxiety of this new season so that later in life you may look back and remind yourself of the steps you took to overcome this fear when you find yourself faced with it again.
Don't let the epilepsy keep you from experiencing all live has to offer you.

Hi Margery! Looking at Epilepsy as I do is the only way I see or the best way I see to live with it. It is a part of me and probably always will be since I have had it this long. I have accepted that. I could have worse - I could have Cancer or Diabetes or other things I see as being more detrimental to me. In no way do I consider I am "Miss Epilepsy" and it controls my life because it doesn't. I am me - it just happens to be a medical condition I must endure and live with. I enjoy reading and sharing what you guys share here. I don't feel as alone. Margery glad to have made another friend in you. Take care, Deborah5

As a college professor, I always have students who would need accommodation with the exam being ADHD, Autism or Epilepsy. It is completely private and they can sit in a separate office to take exam. For class , i had one epileptic student who attended with their dog .
I think these days people are more open to physical disorders that sexual orientation!!!
Don’t worry and communicate with your teacher.

I didn't tell anyone i had epilepsy when i was going to college. The less people know, the less explaining i have to do. I learned that from going to high school.
