Medication Side Effect? Further Complications?

I have focal eppilepsy. My speech is very impaired now. Vision is now double. Balance is impaired. Meds ia now toplep 300mg a day and epitec 200mg a day split in half morning and night.

Over the last 3 weeks my speech and vision as well as balance has started going. My fits have increased significantly. I am suffering feom chest pain as well. Muscular i canntouch. This I cant.

The neuro has kept up with the diary has to be submitted in a few weeks.

Thanks for the chat. I just wish the neuro the would get back to. The speech impairment is getting to me. I seriousky cant speak and its getting to me.
I hope your side effect and other ill effects get better.

I have TLE my main issues or sub-issues if you like our balance, memory, vision ( i have to wear glasses) headaches and hayfever these are the main ones but I do have other issues as well.

I hear you @A MyEpilepsyTeam Member. I get side-effects from my medication too. I am on 4 different AEDs(one of them is in 2 strengths)which makes it worse. They tend to say ‘the more AEDs you are on, the more likely that you will get side-effects’. I’ve been an epileptic for nearly 30 years, and it is frustrating when you hear the words ‘medication review’, you think you’re going to be asked about side-effects(if any)…… then you learn that it is nothing of the sort, and you start to lose faith in the medical profession.

Well after a little temper today as the Drbis ignoring the speech loss focusing on meds only Inhave been reffered to yet a new Dr. Really I take my hat off to ya all. I was diagnosed 18 months ag and I am already going nuts.

I assume they’ve already done the testing but have they found any reason for the sudden decline? After a long time on high doses of certain meds, your organs can be harmed, so yes the chest pain could be a result of the meds, but also the epilepsy itself, which sounds like it’s getting worse. Can he order new tests and change medications, or are you a candidate for surgery? I’ll be praying for you here in CT, and hope you are at least able to get some rest…
