Medical Marijuana?
A MyEpilepsyTeam Member asked a question πŸ’

Hi I just got approved for my medical marijuana card for epilepsy and I have no idea how to use it for medical purposes. Does anyone else use it? And what do you use Capsules, flower, extract etc. And what strain/percentage of thc to cbd?

Hi. Ok so general rule of thumb: edibles are considered extended releases and smokeables are immediate. Where edibles will medicate you for hours they take 30-45 mins to start working. However, something like a bowl or joint may only last 40 mins to an hr and it starts to work immediately.

So I've been with MMP for almost 12 years. For me Marijuana is my miracle. My seizures uccur when my body finally shuts down to sleep. If I eat a gummy or smoke a bowl then I'm good, I don't, then once my head hits the pillow it's game on.

So I don't actually spend the entire day high. You can build a tolerance for ALL medications so take as directed. However, you may need to play with it a little until you find what suits you best.

I use flower. I prefer indica or indica leaning hybrid strains as some sativas leave my mind racing. Gummies do not work for me. I try and smoke the least amount as possible (less than 1.5 grams a day.) You're supppsed to vape your flower, but I prefer a glass bong as it saves me money, and makes me feel the best and most relaxed. I do switch between strains and effects though, to give my brain a break and a new medicine. I also try new strains out often to find which makes my head feel the greatest. Just a tip from my own experience-Use less in the morning and at night because you will feel the effects the most at these times. I prefer medical marijuana as my seizure medications (Neurotin and Vimpat) don't work and leave me with terrible side effects. If I smoke after a seizure it calms my brain down and usually makes me feel so much better! It stops a second seizure from happening again right away! Becuase if I do not smoke after a seizure, I will have another very soon after! But when I smoke and if I smoke all day after one I usually don't have more! It helps take away my headaches as well as irritation! &It helps me sleep as well too! I believe my medical marijuana works, but I do not smoke it as most people probably do, due to the stigma of medical marijuana and the negativity of other peoples perspectives! I honestly feel bad for smoking it like I'm a criminal when I shouldn't because it's benefiting me medically! Lets raise awareness of the positive effects of Medical Marijuana you guys!!! Good luck Girl! MJ has your back 😁😁😁

I take a 1:1 gummy of indica every morning with my morning medications. I use Ogeez 100mg gummed. They help me along. Ask questions, as for the card, I use mine for delivery! Can't drive so I have it delivered. It helps.
