Does anyone take their medications without water?
The reason why I ask is because I constantly see actors in tv shows ,movies who just grab their pills and swallow without drinking any water and I'm thinking does anyone ever do that in real life because honesty if I even tried that I would probably choke or have that uncomfortable feeling that something is stuck in my throat.
Negative but you can use something else like juice or tea
Sometimes I do. I've developed the ability to salivate automatically when thinking of taking a pill so that has made it possible to swallow them if I need to without water. I developed this ability when I was about 12 and started having many migraines, so many that I always carried aspirin and didn't always have water available.
I do sometimes. There are time when I my drinking cup would be empty, and I would take my meds with out the drink. But, before I take my meds, I try and collect up the saliva in my mouth. When I think there’s enough saliva, I then take the meds. Although it doesn’t always work 100% . A lot of times, the medication would get stuck in my throat on its way down.
Another alternative way I have swallowed my meds, is by food. If I’m eating breakfast, lunch, dinner, or just snacking, I would take the meds while the foods in my mouth.
@A MyEpilepsyTeam Member I was told not to tillt your head back. Ever sense then it works. I guess its different for everyone right? ☺️
I dont like to but i take lamictal and the pills are teeny tiny..but i still need a drink a few mins after. But anything bigger, no. & if u feel one coming sometimes ill put it under my tongue and let it dissolve because it gets in your blood stream faster..tastes like crap but used to it🤷
