Does Anyone Else Suddenly Stop Recognizing Where They Are, Or Why They’re There?

Does Anyone Else Suddenly Stop Recognizing Where They Are, Or Why They’re There?

This is scary to me, suddenly feeling lost in a room in my own home, for instance…
Or not recognizing a simple word… or forgetting for just a moment how to spell because it “just looks wrong”…

I have experienced this more often than I would like.

I think that getting off Tegretol after being on it for 24 years without ever reaching a long-term seizure free state might help me getting away from it because memory recall has improved since I have been off of Tegretol/Carbamazepine.

And I am praying that any of my friends who are also experiencing this will soon no longer do so. We had a discussion on here years ago about how it would be very difficult to know if any of us actually develop dementia because of this.

I have a memory loss from my TBI's, so I forget why I'm somewhere all of the time. That isn't caused by seizures---that's caused by my not having a short-term memory.
