I use the natural remedies, echinacia/goldenseal, manuka honey, etc. Congestion is a hard one other than hot teas, steamy showers. I know there's something else and I'll let you know if I remember. Yeah, the drugstore stuff isn't good for me either. Ask your PCP for something very mild and effective. Hope you feel beter ASAP!

What’s ever in my med cabinet. I also keep cough drops ( HALLS ) near by me during the Winter months

I would suggest Vicks on the chest at night. Also Echinacea Immune Support tea (which is also caffeine free). To break up my cough i take Ginger tea. Both by Yogi at your supermarket. I haven't used cold medicine since 2002 because of how it reduced my seizure medications. Hope you will feel better soon.

I have that problem as well. It turned out with the anticonvulsants that I take I have developed a severe immune deficiency. I receive an infusion weekly for that. If the congestion continues or reoccurs do have your immune system checked.

My husband swears by paracetamol ,hot orange juice with honey in Pains me to say it works. I also use a menthol nasal stick to stop a blocked up nose (.Sometimes I dissolve menthol in boiling water to inhale but possibly not recommended if you're prone to tonic,,/clonic seizures ) x
