Does Anyone Have More Than 1 Type Of Seizure?
A MyEpilepsyTeam Member asked a question 💭

I feel I do. Some I just sit or stand (whatever I'm already doing) and talk. Other ones I walk around and swing my arms. That sounds like 2 different seizures.

@A MyEpilepsyTeam Member , The 5 day in hospital Video EEG I had in September 2019 showed mostly Focalized seizure activity but some Generalized seizure activity. My seizures don’t occur real often & so I didn’t have one at the hospital but the Neurologist said it was while I slept that the seizure activity showed up on the EEG. I’ve had several seizures in my sleep with my last seizure occurring in my sleep last September 2020. I probably have Grand mal seizures that include rolling of the eyes & my arms shaking my Mom says & others might be Partial seizures. When growing up I had the petit mal seizures, now known as absence seizures. On Facebook there’s a page called Epilepsy Education and Support & that page often posts helpful info that lists info about certain types of seizures & describes them & their symptoms, etc. Check it out. Hope your seizures calm down. Sending Thoughts, Hugs, Smiles & Prayers. Your friend in Texas, Becky

Before I went into a long-term seizure-free state a year and a 5 months ago, I had generalized full seizures, partial seizures (originating from both temporal lobes), nocturnal seizures. And my epilepsy started in September 1966 with my first febrile seizure as a newborn. However, the febrile seizures only last until the age of 5, and then the epilepsy goes into a hibernating state while it decides what form the seizures will be when the hibernation ends.

And I have and others have both epileptic seizures and non-epileptic seizures (NES) at the same time. This is a fact that some neurologists don't recall, or it is one that I have because GOD put it into my head. I need to do some research to see if medical research has proven this fact. However, GOD has not blocked me from sharing this, thus it is at least an absolute fact provided by GOD.

I have both petit mal and grand mal seizures. I got diagnosed with Epilepsy at the age of two. It is hereditary from my dad's side of the family. My dad's mom had it and my uncle (dad's brother) had it as well.
