When I was younger, I enjoyed going out with friends, festivals, fairs, theme parks, etc. When I was diagnosed, it did take my joy away from doung those things mainly because I allowed my seizures and my fears to consume me. Once I got adjusted to the medications, and came to terms with my triggers, I was able to find things I enjoyed while relieving myself from my fears. My suggestion would be to sit down and make a list of things that make you happy, then ser what actions or activities will tie to that happiness. If you are able to do them, then add them to your list of hobbies. As we get older, our interests change, so don’t get too discouraged! It happens! ☺️
It is extremely important that we have hobbies especially if we have to spend a lot of time at home and alone. I know for me it helps me to feel like I am accomplishing something other than just cooking, cleaning, and keep up with the bills. I do miss bowling and taking walks. I am going to try walking on my treadmill starting this week and suggest to my husband we go bowling. I can sit down while he takes his turn.
@A MyEpilepsyTeam Member I'd suggest VR for The flight simulators BUT knowing how I am with VR I'd be very careful with VR in it's current stage I'm waiting till it's Sword art online or Overlord levels maybe then I won't be worthless. But I'd see about VR maybe it'll be just the thing to feel that hollowness.
Because of this stupid pandemic I’m wiping my messages before I put them away that is exercise for me just now I only want to go out once a week and that is to go to the hairdressers and pick up prescriptions I order my food for delivery x x
Exercise is great for reducing stress. Yoga is my fav. I do lots of yard work daily, art & just take a nap.
