Any type of epileptic seizure could potentially affect your memory, either during or after a seizure. If you have lots of seizures, memoryproblems might happen more often. ... Abnormalities in the temporal or frontal lobes of the brain are the most common reason for memoryproblems in people with epilepsy.

What kind of seizure do you have? Mine are Petite Mal (or Absent) seizures. Sometimes I will lose small chunks of memory when I have my seizures. It sucks. If it weren’t for my wife telling me what happened I’d be clueless. It doesn’t happen every time, thankfully.

I’ve got complex partial seizures absence ones as well I take seizures before I’m due to take meds sometimes I think I’ve taken my meds and actually forgot I done that yesterday morning stress doesn’t help you could be running on autopilot that you think you’ve done something eg like took meds I also suffer cluster seizures as well and it knocks the stuffing out of me and I’m tired i would try not to do too many things at once my I forget to take meds 3 to 4 times a month sometimes because I think I’ve already taken them

I have discovered something like that does also happen to me. An example when it happens to me: ex: I watched a movie & remember all parts from the first time. Then when watching it a 2nd time I don't remember seeing that same scene. My guess is that is when an absence seizure occurs-I was not "awake" to see that part.

It's terrible the memory loss. When we have seizures are memory is always affected. Unfortunately if you Absence seizures you lose out more too.
I will tell you, unfortunately the antiepileptic meds we take can have the side of effect of memory loss.
