All i know is that i have grand mal and absentee seizures and thats it i have had eegs done but only 1 hour one i have had mris done ekg but i dont know how to really figure out what is going on and have gotten no info from the test
You need to bring it up to your Dr. about your question. With all the tests you did , should give them an idea of what type of Epilepsy you have. Many of us have Grand Mal and Absence seizures.
The type of Epilepsy you have is figured out by how you act before , during and after you seizure. What parts of your brain feels the after effect of your seizures or makes you act out . There are too many possible paths for what kind of Epilepsy you have. Only your Dr. can give you this answer.
Ask Your Dr. every question You have, write them down and bring it to your next appointment. Answering questions is part of a Dr.s job. Write down the answers then do some research on Your own & contact the Epilepsy Foundation for more information.
I live in the UK My GP said it wasn't his area of expertise & referred me to local specialist epilepsy unit ,which isn't particularly useful I find the specialist epi nurses give me more info than the neurologist
when you see your dr again, tell um the full diagnosis. then google what it is. if not get a copy of the eeg and mri. and google that. if you need help, just ask one of us. i know more stuff and can read an eeg (i can kinda read a mri and cat scan (ct scan)).
I was in the Hospital hooked up to an EEG machine for a week and off all meds..tell them you want to try surgery so it needs to get figured out.
Or did they get the info needed during the testing?.
