Vimpat Alternative
A MyEpilepsyTeam Member asked a question 💭

I have been on Vimpat for 9 years, but just lost my job and the stellar insurance that came with it. My copay will go from $60 for a three month supply to $500 for a one month supply. Anyone have any recommendations or know of medications similar to Vimpat?

I take phenobarbital levitracitem known as, and also take vimpat, I was seizure free for 12 years and seizures started back up at the age 18 while still on meds, maybe ask your doctor about some of those and see if your doctor can give you anything similar to suggest to you

Thanks, everyone. I've been digging around but it seems like due to my high dosage the coupon doesn't work. Fingers crossed for the Trileptal! It works on the sodium channels, just like Vimpat, so my neurologist is confident it should do the job.

Have you ever tried googling for vimpat coupons? My pharmacy helped me find a coupon to get my medication for $20.
