I would be in the hospital for five days and nights without sleep and off my medication completely to provoke a seizure

Your Dr. wants to know if you have sleep Insomnia or Sleep Apnea .both can deal a part in Epilepsy

They may also hook you up to an VEEG monitor too. They might test to see what your seizure triggers are, with a lack of sleep and the reduction of your meds. This all to see how far they can bring until you have a seizure. They may even take it further to where they want you to a very large seizure.

I had a few of these stay in hospital VEEGs . There was a time where they were had me off all meds ,trying to get me to have a big seizure. But brain was fighting against them to the point where, my Dr. came in asked me , what food or drink don’t I touch , that would make me seizure. I was craving Regular Dr.Pepper that day. Not some type of alcohol, but Dr.Pepper. All regular sodas, if they aren’t Diet sodas , they make me seizure.

Later that day they came up with my food and 2 cans of regular Dr.Pepper. I finished my food off and just finished one of the cans of pop. I started on the second one and had three or four drinks. Then I went into an all out convulsions of seizures. That’s what they wanted and they got the info they needed from me.

i have something kinda like that. its a eeg sleep test. it basically hooked you up to your scalp and then you sleep (or try to sleep). the nurse will monitor you 24/7 until you are done with the test.
