Im trying to identify my triggers. Im hoping some of you might have some ideas of what I should be looking for.

I had 2 generalized seizures on june 25th. Started taking tegratol 200mg/day july 15th. August 15th we increased to 400mg/day.
August 29th I stayed at my bfs over night and failed to take my night doses of both tegratol and amitriptyline. On the 30th I took both my morning and night doses as scheduled. However i was awoken in the middle of the night having had a generalized seizure.

There are many things that triggers a seizures.
Lack of sleep, stress, late on meds ( as you know ) , then there’s foods and drinks . There are still more triggers. You could take all the right steps of preventing your seizures and just from out of the blue , you still may have one.

I’ve been all the meds out there until a new one hits the market. My seizures are still not 100% controlled. I expect at least one seizure a day.

Hi StaceyLL, I would definitely say it was missed meds, I have done it myself and have always had a seizure, thats why I ALWAYS take them..get into that mind state that they must come first and foremost especially when you are going to be out..take spare ones..its worth it as you know now..sorry for the lecture but I have regretted it so much myself.. dont get doing the same girl..have fun :)

First you need to take your medicine on time write it down lay them out in dixi cups so You know if they are gone you took them, then eat good 3 good meals breakfast ,lunch supper snacks if you wish get at 7 hrs of sleep if you can’t get it during the night rest during the day, don’t over work do so much sit keep hydrated ,stay away from caffeine which is coffee , colas, some teas as it gives you headaches and too much can cause seizures ,

When I am struggling struggling with triggers thrn I think id be ok...but there are triggers & they cant be recognized until the last second until u have a seizure...my famous 2 triggers 1) is ambulances & their lights & sirens & 2) going to a sober dance & I can't handle not looking at the glass dance thing u know that puts rays all around a room??? Do u know what it is used for??? I have no idea??? But just to look at these things I can't help but look...my eyes are blankley staring at the glass or the sirens I have to close my eyes I just can't help it...so I hope that answers ur question ...take care...pemeten...
