get a lawyer that specializes in disability cases.

there is a lot of types of ssi (mom is a med billing). there is medicare, medicaid, ssdi, and aarp. there is many more but it is not focus on disability. medicare is working, medicaid is low income and disabled as a kid, ssdi is sudden disabled, and aarp is retirement money. all but the medicaid need a job. i was a kid so i get medicaid money.
my advice is get a local lawyer or someone that knows the disability stuff. if you deny there disability thing... fight harder.

Applying for SSDI will depend on how much you have worked . You may want to start out with SSI first. Once you are in the system, you can try for SSDI

If you do decide to try for SSI or SSDI make sure you have a lot of documentation from your Dr.s and specialists who may have info on your Epilepsy.

If your condition has been well documented as being debilitating, you could. Speak to your doctor to see if he would support your claim for disability. If your doctor does then find an attorney.

I agree with your post and the other people's here, I have filed for ssdi once after working since 18 years old till 2011 , I then hired a lawyer and got It after being denied the first time, but unfortunately had a seizure in front of the judge and was approved for it,I wish you don't have that happen to to or anyone else here with the condition you may have, but get the info from people here which is ok then , go over your options you have gathered through sites and lead, resources and such etc, then make up your own mind about the best way you want to go about it and handling it but hang in there and try and stay pos, good luck with your condition and your situation at hand, my opinion here
