@A MyEpilepsyTeam Member the grand mals were random and i had um 3-5 times a day. drs we worryed because the part that triggers the seizures were at was the speech center. whats funny was, right before the surgery, they did the test again and the speech moved from the trigger center to way back of the trigger center.
i am strong because my huge family backs me up and i am somewhat a fighter. i want to win. i work at a day care center and talk about my epilepsy. i think that is a tiny win.

I have generalized Grandmal tonicclonic so they cant do surgury on me...But my best friend had a successfull surgury a year ago, hes seizure free and on 0 meds now. Still fights slight depression but it is worth it. They are experienced professional brain surgeons , I would trust them over hundreds of pills anyday. Not to mention alot of AEDs damage your liver on long exposure. Hope that helps bud!

In 1998 I had my brain surgery. I went through pre tests to prepare for the surgery. I went thru a 4 hr. EEG, MRI , a Neuro Psych Test , and WADA Test . Before my hospital check in ,I shaved my head .

The last test I had Durin my hospital check-in for the brain surgery. They first cut open my skull where my seizures are active and placed what they called the Grid electrodes over the that section of the brain . This will help map out the seizure area. Then they stapled my skull back in place. Got brought back up to the department my room was located, they hooked the grid up with th EEG electrodes.

The next step was too try to get a big seizure to act out. They reduced my meds a little everyday. After I had my big seizure, they would have a tech test the Grid that’s against my brain. Finding where my memory, speech and language centers are. Then i was off to the surgery.

Since my surgery I went from severe seizures to mild and moderate seizures. It didn’t make me seizure free. Even though I still can’t control my seizures 100%, It was overall worth it for me .

i had left brain surgery and it helped a little bit. i used to have partials into grand mals before the surgery. after the surgery i have only partials. the side effect of the surgery is my right body is less than my left. my hand doesnt work and my leg needs to have a brace to walk long distances. my brain is all there but my speech is slow. i cant remember more that about 3-4 thing at one time. finally i cant spell. its like i am a 3-4 grader.
do you have options like the keto diet or cbd oil? try those first. if both things didnt work then (and only then) can you get surgery.

Always here for ya!:) and yeah I hate pills. AEDs can ruin peoples lives with epilepsy by the emotional trauma it sets in for some like myself.
