I am now SEIZURE FREE 5 YEARS 3 MONTHS 11 DAYS. Take medication still and will stay on forever to prevent seizures. It took a long time (since the early 70s) to end my seizures. Modern times have take over for people today. Take advantage of itπŸ‘πŸ‘πŸ‘

I am a candidate but I have read some scary outcomes. I asked a guy on my team that said @A MyEpilepsyTeam Member, "Surgery is a big decision. It was for me. The first one took almost 16 hours and I was seizure free for 3 months when I had a massive grand mal seizure lasting almost 30 minutes. I was unconscious and on the way to the hospital I died twice. The surgery performed, they had to drain excess fluid from my brain. They placed a shunt on the left temporal lobe area. I woke up unable to recognize people I knew, walk, talk correctly, do normal things. I'm rehabilitation for 3 months for physical, speech and occupational therapy. It took me 3 years and another surgery to replace the shunt that collapsed to walk again and get back 95% to where I was before surgery. Surgeries cost me over $750,000, since my head neurosurgeon was not on my insurance plan.
If you can check on other procedures like (VNS) Vargus Nerve Stimulation or (RNS) Responsive Neurostimulation Device, I would check those out to name a few. I hope this is helpful. Best wishes to youπŸ’žπŸ˜Ž

It's radiation done with a machine. It has around 90 beams that point to a specific place in a brain. It can shrink tumors and/ or lower the amounts of seizures.

I'm okay with having a blind eye. It's natural to me now.
