@A MyEpilepsyTeam Member i agree with you. and i had surgery in 2001. since then we have the VNS thing and different meds and different ways to get the surgery (that laser thing). i just know a lot of things because i have complex partials and tonic clonics and the drs were baffled because they didnt know about food seizures.
@A MyEpilepsyTeam Member all that you need to know is trust your dr and trust your gut feeling.

the 'might be' tells drs that we need another test to confirm or demise (yes or no) if its attacking your brain.

@A MyEpilepsyTeam Member the drs told me this (when i was a kid). there is guys in your body that protect from bad things (dont know what the term is). sometime it will attack something that it sees as a threat in your body (mostly viruses and colds). it will kill or weaken that threat even if its a good thing or a bad thing. well when you are having a seizure those guys see it as a threat to a certain part of the brain and will kill or weaken it. that makes more problems.

Hey. I’m not a Doctor and not giving medical advice. I have to say that up front because I’m a registered nurse. It sounds like the deal with the hippocampus happened as you were developing. You don’t routinely do an MRI because you’re going to find something. You wait until there are symptoms as a wonderful Physical Rehab physician once told me. He said that because an MRI was performed on my 8th grader because of severe hip pain. We found things that nothing can be done for but probably won’t bother him until he’s an old man. The only concerning is a potential one. Your MRI mentions potential focal region of dysplasia. Make them explain that to you. Dysplasia usually means pre-cancerous cells. Then again it says potential not definite. I hope this helps. You can look up dysplasia if you’d like.
