Members responded warmly to the question about what keeps spirits high beyond medication, faith, and loved ones, sharing a wide mix of personal strategies that bring purpose and joy despite years of seizures. Several members found strength in creative outlets like art, origami, diamond painting, and adult coloring, while others leaned on music, pets, humor, and staying busy with work or hobbies. A recurring theme was finding small daily victories, accepting epilepsy as part of life without letting it define them, and drawing deep comfort from community, grandchildren, and the simple reminder that they are still going.

I know what you mean. We all have down times. But God never gives us more than we can handle and one other thing. We are STILL GOING Everybody finds something to turn to sometimes we just have to complain. I was told once to set a clock for an hour to complain and yell all I wanted to and when the buzzer went off i was done. I also have friends that i tell i need to talk about grouch time and we share. I think we do it here too.

The thought that if I feel like my life can't get any worse, that it has hit rock bottom emotionally. Then the only direction I have to go, is up.

Most of it has already been covered mate. Just taking a deep breath or 10. Having a sit or lie down to think about things. Letting the effects wear off. Thinking about how lucky I am to be able to live a life. Then getting up and living it.
