Daughtets Diagnosed W/Phantom Brain Tumor, Told Going Off Meds Would Cause Blindness, As Well As Surgery, What's The Loss Of Site %?
A MyEpilepsyTeam Member asked a question 💭

My daughter is considering pregnancy, her med staff informs her that if she abandons her med during this process, it will cause her to lose sight resulting in total blindness. If she proceeds with surgery, the same result is expected. Has anyone experienced a similar situation that can provide me with more insight?

Hello,
I would say 'trust in God" and go ahead. I had epilepsy since I was in my teens and I am now close to 60 and still get seizures now and then. My children are all married and have children. When I was expecting my third child the doctor gave me a choice to abort after an ultrasound. He said the baby would be deformed because he had a big head. I refused. The baby was born healthy. It turns out that the baby had a lot of hair.

Regret, I haven't had children due to my epilepsy but feel for you all going through this... An awful decision to make and consider. I had to make the decision not to have due to the seizures. What about adoption instead?
