I've been told, epilepsy
has never been proven
"as hereditary,' yet it tends to "run in families." A Doctor told me this. I have seizures + i have 2 couisins on "mother's
side of the family," have had seizures also!

I asked my Neurologist &
he told me 'that it tends to run, in families, but it's never been proven hereditary!' *Mom's side
of the family has #2 others that had seizures,
yet neither of them, "presently!"

I have #2 cousins that
have had seizures also, (both, on Mom's
side of the family).
My Dr. told me "it tends
to run in family, but it's
never been proven that
it's hereditary!"

I myself got diagnosed with epilepsy when I was 15 (24 now), through genetics. Even though it can be passed down by family, epilepsy is different for each person. For example I have Grand Mal seizures often, yet my mother has different ones and she hasnt had them for 9 years. So its quite possible itll be different for you and you shouldnt stress that youll have the same effects as your Father. Just take a deep breath and know that you can be strong to face it and your family and friends will always be there for you :)

I've been told it's not
hereditary! I myself am
Male, yet i have #2 females, on Mom's side of the family that
have had seizures.
