My neurologist asked my General Practitioner to book an appointment for me to see a Neuropsychologist to work on surgery side effect. My Gp received a letter and it says Neuropsychologist only helps people with dementia which I don't have. Does your neuropsychologist only work on dementia as well?
So from what I know neuropsychologist is the study of the relationship between behavior, emotion, and cognition on the one hand, and brain function on the other. So if you have emotional issues because of your epilepsy, maybe your dr. Is trying to figure that out. Let me know if it works out!
Neurologist helped me control seizures
Psychologist helped me control my negative emotion which led to non-epileptic seizures.
Neuropsychologist is different to both.
That Dr is the one who defended me for disability for cognitive impairment. All aspects of the psychology of our illness, it's fascinating and helpful
I've seen a neurosurgeon and had a surgery last year November. Seeing him next month for check up. After his surgery, my memory and language got worst so my Neurologist wants me to see a Neuropsychologist.
I'm sorry that your neuropsychology doctor won't do the surgery. I'm actually getting ready to have my brain mapping done for the surgery. I would definitely get a second opinion from a different doctor.
