I'm 51 I've had epilepsy since I was 18. You will get to know warnings. You can't try and wrap yourself up in cotton wool. You have a life to lead. Deal with each day as it comes.

@A MyEpilepsyTeam Member sometimes you get a sensation in your mouth not exactly a taste your mouth might seem different. If you have time get as low to the floor as possible. If you can't lay down sit down against a wall. I've looked like a drug addict sat there unconscious but sustained less injuries. People walked past me until someone knew me. I hope things get better for you I know how drained you are when you wake up. I know about the lumps on the edge of your tongue. Don't give up if you want to know how I sorted the seizures just ask. It wasn't easy but I got there just like you will

@A MyEpilepsyTeam Member before after and during a seizure it's very confusing. Fortunately in the past I've had a warning an aura. It's very embarrassing when you miss a snip of the conversation twitch in between. Then normal for maybe a minute sometimes not enough time to explain right there right then any place anywhere I'm in a full seizure the only safe place is bed. Look for any feeling the slightest difference in you before the seizure. The aura is confusion usually talking to someone. I'm not surprised you called your husband a different name. Between twitches confusion gets worse and worse. Only you will know a certain feeling before a seizure. Something

The only problem there is that quite often I don't even know for sure if a seizure is going to happen. Also when it does I'm out of it and can't call for help. The real shocker was when I called my husband by a wrong name; the poor guy looked like he was really at a loss. I have been very fortunate; I had almost 3 and a half years alone and during that time I never had a serious injury from a seizure.

The first thing I can suggest if you feel one coming on get as low to the ground as possible you will sustain less injuries.
