Before I was diagnosed with epilepsy I wasn't a big drinker. Now, that I'm on the right medication my epilepsy seems to be settled. I'm getting married this May and want to look mature and sophisticated and may want to odd drink of wine or champagne. Is there a safe limit to alcohol? If there is how much can I have? Or should I just avoid it completely?
Re: alcohol - it is def on a case by case basis and depending which medications you are on. Well all medications say "do not drink alcohol" but come on... I have to admit I do drink, my neorologist knows and he says its nothing new. Now one thing I read in your post is you said you are not a drinker to begin with... who cares what people will think at the wedding. If you drink or not does not determine if you are a grown up. You making wise decisions is what makes you an adult
When I turned 18 my GP told me if I was going to drink I could as long as I did it in moderation, had a glass of water after every two drinks and didn't drink to get drunk.
Depends on what medication you're on? I'm on topiramate and that says don't drink alcohol but I consulted my doctor and he said having a little bit is fine. But everyone is different on how alcohol/medication effects people and congratulations
All Dr.'s recommend that we don't drink alcohol πΊ. The best I can say is know and understand your Epilepsy's Tolerance to thing like that. Maybe buy some type of wine π· or champagne π₯and see how much you are able to tolerate.
I myself on occasions may drink a little alcohol. After I've drank my limit , I find something safer to drink.
Ask your doctor he knows what meds you are on. I would never mix drugs and alcohol.
