I have a health assessment tomorrow , i have one for both ESA and PIP. One is in Glasgow and thats tomorrow and one is local. Would be easier if they were both just here rather than travelling so far. I dont even know where the heck it is in Glasgow to go! Anyways my mum just keeps telling me stuff like 'aw u'll just have to tell them this n that' basically making up a load of lies and exaggerating things like my neighbour comes in to check on me etc, when she doesnt. and someone helps me to… read more

Wonderful woman. It can be really hard on the spouse, my husband has always supported me and we've been married for 35 years. He always knew how embarrassed I got after having a seizure in public, especially when I lost control of my boarder. Not often but it did happen. He'd put his arm around me and lead me away to the car. I can never love him enough for the strength he's given me all these years. Please take care.

I live in the US.
I was diagnosed when I was 13. I have generalized grand Mal and absent seizures. I have break through seizures but after many years for the most part medicine is controlling the seizures now. Took a couple decades to get to this point.
In the meantime I worked a full time I.T. job, lived on my own, eventually got married raised a son sent him off to college and now am the lead singer in two classic rock bands.
BUT....as I do this it is all with knowing I could/do have seizures. I have to take care of myself.
I did not get to this point without fall downs and really deep depressions. Hole myself up in a room, watch TV, stay in pajamas and not eat. But I cannot stay that way...I had to pick myself up....well sometimes my husband, family or friends had to kick me in the ass to do it.
How did I get to work, car pools, co-workers, cabs, mass transit, family. When seizure free long enough I could drive.
When living by myself live had to live within walking distance of stores and banks.
None of it is easy I had/have to do it for me.
Best of luck hun! Go kick some epilepsy ass!

I'm in a job, but don't know for how long though. Had worse seizures yet at work couple of weeks back (2 seizures in 2 days at work) Colleagues came looking for me when they hadn't seen me for over 30 mins. Ambulance called. In hospital a week and a half. Reoccurring multiple seizures in hospital.
They've upped my medication and added another.
I've never felt so weak in all my life. They said " it's my body getting used to the increased medication ". I've been off work 4 weeks now, due back in nxt week, no doubt get a 2nd warning!!.
I was informed about the benefit PIP, I was assessed and got " 0 out of 12". Apparently" I should have seizures all the time before I may qualify for looking into "!!
Lose this job, and I'm in trouble with my mortgage...
