I agree with Cory jettison, I took a med for my epilepsy which really didn't agree with me. The side effects were awful, depression and suicidal. Perhaps you should see your neurologist and see what he says.x

I think my medication causes my depression. It's a side effect. Try researching your medication. It's possibly the same thing.

I have had epilepsy since I was 3, and I do not remember exactly when my depression started, but I am not 100% sure that my epilepsy was the only contributing factor. things such as being overweight and being bullied as a kid didn't help.
however I can attest to epilepsy making depression worse. depression is a side effect on nearly all epilepsy medication. and just having a chronic illness that affects your day to day life is enough to make anyone depressed. if you tend to dwell on it like I do from time to time, it definitely makes it worse.
