VNS Turn Off
A MyEpilepsyTeam Member asked a question 💭

Lately I dont really feel my VNS on. Ever since I had my surgery done my knee I really dont feel my stimulator. The day of my knee surgery my husband had to turn the VNS off before the surgery so there would be no problems after the surgery he turned it back on I felt it a little, but lately I really havent felt anything can there be really something? Can any one who has a VNS help me!

You mean you can't get into see your Neurologist before then ? I'd call him and tell him that it's not working like it should and see what he'll do to get it working the way it should be working.

Sometimes you just get so used to it that you don't feel it anymore. Do you feel it when you swipe your magnet? I would go to the doc just to make sure it actually got turned back on at the right settings. I bet they might have turned it back on but at a lower setting.

I admit I don't have a VNS - but since I have had 2 surgeries in the past 3 months - tell doc but know that not feeling normal or having tingling, pain etc - can be because of surgery! As many have said to me - you need to give time to recover! But make doc know!
