Elizabeth, I understand your opinion on cannabis. It still isn't wholly accepted by the masses nor the entire medical community. However, the political argument is mostly based on misinformation. Many people do not find pharmaceuticals to control seizures and have intractable epilepsy. Using cannabis medicinally is not new, and it may be the only thing that works for some. I use cannabis oil, which is an oral dose to control my left temporal lobe epilepsy. It works for me when all the pills failed.

Jonnyb, thanks for asking. I can't even name all of the pharmaceuticals we tried, but I started out on just one, Lamictal. That was in 2007. The med became less effective, so in 2010 I tried cannabis oil. The two worked perfectly together. I had to stop using the cannabis in 2013, and was only using lamictal again. It was this past year that we had to go through, at last count, seven different meds, three different combinations of those meds, and even tolerance breaks off the pills. Since last October, the seizures became worse and more frequent, and I got the dreaded phrase "Unfortunately, there's nothing we can do to help you" when I spoke to the nurse. February this year, I decided to go back on the oil. Since then, I haven't had a single seizure, and that was after having at least three generalized or nocturnal seizures a week, and countless partial simple and complex seizures a day.

There this lil girl that on medical weed an she has seizures to an ever since she started taking it she has not had a seizure for like a year now. I'm on 3 different seizure medications Keppra,Felbatol.Vimpat. Less you take weed you will have a whole new life an not have any seizures it's happening to right now with me I smoke weed for my seizures an I have not had one I been seizure free. So less you want to be seizure free I suggest weed because it really does work.
