A MyEpilepsyTeam Member asked a question 💭

How long does it take for a neurologist to contact you? My PCP sent a referral to one and I have yet to hear from them. I had a CT yesterday she sent it to a group of neurologists at two hospitals. I am just wondering how long I need to wait, seeing I haven't had a neurologist in about 5 years.

If the PCP gave me a copy of the referral, I would call the neuro myself to make an appointment rather than wait for them to call me. Where I live, initial neuro appointments can take 6-8 weeks to get in. I always call right after the PCP gives me the information. Typically, they allow you to make the appointment as long as they receive the referral information prior to your appointment.
