What Do You Do To Help You Sleep?
A MyEpilepsyTeam Member asked a question 💭

I have problems with clearing my mind or trying not to go to sleep upset at night. As much as I try not to get into arguments with anyone at all especially close to bedtime....it's going to happen. What helps you sleep?

Melatonin is a great herbal supplement that aids in sleep. My neurologist suggested I take that and it has helped tremendously. Melatonin is found naturally in our bodies; some people just have lower amounts than others.

As long as hot water is NOT a trigger for you....soaking your feet in hot water before bed can really help!

Pray! Talk to God and ask Him to bring peace to your heart. I say Hail Mary's and then I give glory to God for my blessings. Prayers being sent to you!

I had trouble sleeping on a night so the epilepsy nurse told me to stop drinking caffeine after 2pm because I was getting myself into a catch 22 where I struggled to stay awake during the day and drinking coffee and energy drinks to remedy that which was keeping me up on a night due caffeine taking so many hours to fully hit your system.
