Does anyone else experience migraines with blurred vision only on one side for days at a time. The blurred vision concerns me more than the headache because it is very unusual. I called my neurologist and he says it could be a migraine, could be a seizure, or it could be I need to have my eyes checked. And I can take anything OTC for a headache. I'm really not comfortable with this doctor. Can anyone shed some light? It will be greatly appreciated!
Wow see thats insaine it happens to me sometime I'll be talking I will lose my words train of thought pause for what seems to be a lifetime to me but when I say what was I saying or how long was that people say what or just a few seconds or it seems like you were pausing for a big finish. Not knowing that I know how to control myself before I fumble like a bafoon. I can feel it coming. It's starts in my hands and feet and then my I almost feel like I'm going to fall asleep right on the spot. I've trained myself if I need to pull over but it usually happens when I know exactly what I'm talking about and my brain is on overload of knowledge. You think what the F**ck excuse my language I got this whi is this happening?
Chandlers, What happened to those ladies is abnormal brain activity spread into an area of the brain called Broca's area also known as the frontal gyrus. That is the area that controls speech. When a person can't speak that is called Broca's aphasia. It happened to both of the for only about ten seconds and they were fine after but when people see that they panic because they don't understand what is happening. The lady with the complex migraine when I saw it I thought she was having a seizure. That is the first one that I got wrong because it is so similar to a simple partial and extending into a bit of a complex partial because it was affecting her speech. She saw a neurosurgeon and until she told him she saw it happen to her mother a number of times when she was young. Then he could tell her it was a complex migraine because that can be hereditary condition that can be passed genetically.
I was watching the news one evening and I saw a lady news caster having what I thought was a partial seizure but it was a complex migraine she found out when she went to see a specialist the next day. You can see it on youtube if you want to see it they show another lady news anchor in Wisconsin doing the say thing but she is actually having a seizure. Although they look the same they are both different conditions. When you watch both of them you can see they are both ladies are still conscience and aware but the abnormal brain activity has spread and is affecting the speech center in their brain and causing them to both garble nonsense. The garbling of words is what happens to someone with Broca's Aphasia. I remember learning about this condition back in the 1980. I remember learning Paul Broca was a french psychiatrist who discover the area back in the mid 1800's. If you want to watch it on youtube just click on this blue link https://youtu.be/ZJ4shANmIN8 You will see how similar the two conditions look.
It's ok. I didn't take it offensively. I just regret it in some ways, in other ways it was a blessing. I have 2 amazing daughters that I was blessed with so for that I am greatful. I was so worried that my past diagnosis would affect them as well. Luckily, it did not. :)
I'm on Topomax it works great but takes a while for your body to adapt to. I get pressure headaches but its much better than migraines. You just have to watch out if you are on birth control something the doctors forget to tellyou. The only real contraceptive that is 100% is condoms and those aren't 100%
