Also for me as a result of the right temporal lobe labectomy that saved my life left me without depth perception. Having said that no sky diving for me. Wouldn't change it for the world.
I certainly did not know this until a few minutes ago --when I was researching what international medical committee decides why the label of "mental illness" is used rather than "mental disability" for those that are not labeled as mental disorders (and I did not even know that the mental disorders were not listed as a sub-group of the overall group known as mental illness rather than being in a separate category.

Hi-
I was wondering if anyone has had more than one long term stay to have a seizure to map them out? My husband had one a year ago but no seizure while in the hospital. He wants to go back in but I was looking for some feedback.
Thanks!
When I had my EEG and brain mapping done , it took 8 days. Most of the reason was that they couldn’t get any big seizures for the mapping test and they had me down to no meds . My doctor came to visit… read more
I've been on Clonazepam for 7 years now, 3mg daily for the last 3 years. Except last year my Dr cut me down to 2mg a day in March, I ended up having 6 seizures in March and a total of 17 from March - October. I, without telling my Dr put myself back on 3mg a day and my seizures have slowed down. She lowered my dose cuz I told her wanted off of them, but not at the risk of having that many seizures again. If I suddenly stop taking it when will the withdrawal begin and how dangerous is it? Status… read more

Ok, so this is like the 3rd time this happened. Usually my morning routine consists of bagel & coffee from Dunkin', but yesterday I made my own from home. I took my medicine, but still ended up having a seizure. This happened a few times before, when I change my morning breakfast routine, I end up having a seizure. I guess I'm just used to having breakfast from Dunkin', but my mom doesn't want me having it all the time.

I know this sounds strange but has anyone that had surgery wake up and 99.9 percent of all seizures gone? If so how did you cope and deal with all the stresses and pressure that the healthy person would have? Did it overwhelm you? I had a rough time adjusting to all these changes. It was all worth it believe me. Or anyone try and picture you wake up seizure free? How fast, it changes everything. Wendal
