Members shared a wide range of outcomes after epilepsy surgeries like VNS, RNS, DBS, and temporal lobectomy, showing that results can vary greatly from person to person. Some members found little to no relief and continued having seizures while remaining on medications, while others experienced significant improvement, including one member who became fully seizure-free and went off all medications years after surgery. A recurring theme was the emotional weight of living with drug-resistant epilepsy, balanced by the hope and encouragement that success stories brought to those still considering their options.

Hi everyone. I’m not able to have surgery since both of my hemispheres are really infected. This sucks.

VNS is not an option for me but I would be curious to know about your testing journey/experiences. I had a tibia plateau fracture in July of 2025, I feel your pain! You got this 💜

I had a temporal lobectomy on the left side back in December of 2000. I got total control of my seizures and went off my last med 5 1/2 years after my surgery.
