Members responded warmly to the question about whether they would work in a condition-specific workplace, with many expressing that they genuinely miss working and would welcome the chance to stay busy and feel useful. Several members shared personal stories about losing jobs due to epilepsy, navigating SSDI, volunteering to stay active, and finding creative outlets like writing books. A recurring theme was the emotional weight of having careers interrupted by seizures, balanced with resilience and a strong desire to contribute in whatever way possible.

I think it's time to get back on that horse (bike) again. Just stay clear of barb wired fences and heavy traffic where possible. I think you would find more adventure and excitement would help add some much needed positivity to your life.

I wish I could go back to work; "RETIREMENT" isn't pleasant for me!
I gave all information to the NEW administration at my old job & they began by lessening my hours & then told me that with unknown seizures/ epilepsy, employment in Healthcare is negative for a facility & myself & fired me🤬🤬
I have worked in Healthcare since 1995-> Restorative Aide, CNA, CMT & got my B.A. in Healthcare Administration in 2015; still working ONLY as CNA/ CMT🤦🏿‍♀️🤬
Trying to find a new job I was informed that BECAUSE of epilepsy/ seizures I am a job risk & NO ONE will employ me 🤬🤬🤬 & the start of disability claiming began; I was verified by SSA ADMINISTRATION 2 years later & have only spent time with my granddaughter when my daughter works & needs assistance😣😣😣🙏🏿🙏🏿🤎

Sorry to hear about your journey with seizures. I've been disabled since 1992. Just recently developed nonepileptic psychogenic seizures. They are very real and still seizures. I can't drive.. I'm still afraid to shower without my Mom being here in case something goes wrong. I live alone I don't want that to change. With my mental health problems on top of my physical health I'm too needy for constant company. I don't really feel lonely. I've got Jesus and that always calms me down. I thank him for my blessings every day. I know I could be a lot worse off.
I hope you find peace real soon
I'll pray for you.
