I seem to have lost the ability to feel. I have lost all contact with my Higher Power and this is very important as I am a recovering alcoholic/addict and that relationship is a must for me! It is as though my mind has just shut down. Anyone else experience anything like this?

Members connected over the emotional and spiritual toll of taking Lamotrigine, with many sharing that feeling 'dead inside' or emotionally disconnected is a known side effect worth discussing with a neurologist. Several members offered helpful suggestions, including splitting doses between morning and evening, requesting the brand-name version instead of generic, and reporting side effects like rashes or mood changes to a doctor right away. A recurring theme was the added challenge of managing medication side effects while in recovery, with members in AA and other 12-step programs offering encouragement and reminding each other that their connection to a Higher Power is a trust, not just a feeling.

Lamictal rash please don't take lightly as it is deadly and my neologists took me off this medication ASAP. As for not feeling normal while on it, I was having many seizures at the time and was on a number of medications, tapering on and off, yet this one was very strange. Also at the time I was also sober and it was not the best seizure medicine, as many Anti-Convulsants are when you're trying to find one that works. Now 23 years sober and looking back, this particular seizure medicine was one I would try to avoid personal, but who would know at the time when I was having many seizures, with a brain tumor and trying to stay sober. I'm sure many people take it and manage just fine, or don't question how they feel, because that's what most of society does when given a medication?
Care about you as a person and hope your doctor can help, don't stop asking questions and definitely don't let a rash go on!
