During a sensory seizure, you might experience:
- Numbness or a "pins and needles" tingling sensation
- Dizziness
- Visual or auditory hallucinations
- Tasting or smelling things that aren't there Focal seizures in particular can cause sensory symptoms like feeling numb or dizzy, since they originate in one specific part of the brain. The area of the brain affected during a seizure largely determines what physical symptoms you experience.
It's always worth discussing any new or changing symptoms with your neurologist, especially if the loss of sensation is happening in areas that feel unusual or unexpected to you.
