I always sleep on my left side for comfort, on my right side I have alot of pain in my lower leg that has a metal rod in it, if I lay on my back I wake up with a dry throat, I take a bottle of water every night in case this happens.

Members responded to a question about sleep positions for those with nocturnal seizures, sharing a wide variety of personal approaches shaped by physical limitations, medical advice, and comfort needs. Several members noted sleeping on their left side based on neurologist recommendations, as it can help with drool and reduce choking risks during seizures, while others mentioned using recliners, special pillows, or the recovery position, especially those living alone. A recurring theme was the connection between sleep apnea and seizures, with multiple members suggesting a sleep study and CPAP machine as helpful tools for managing both conditions.
