Alcohol Consumption and Keppra: What Are the Effects? Read Article...

I had dizziness when I first started it. It was bad for about the first month. About 1-2 months into it I was fine. I had other issues that took longer to get use to but the dizziness was gone pretty quick. I was told is it hangs around and becomes prolonged then I would need to come off it.

Dizziness can indeed be a side effect of Keppra (levetiracetam). It's one of the more commonly reported experiences among people taking it.

High caffeine intake — like energy drinks or large amounts of coffee — can also cause lightheadedness and may interfere with how well Keppra works, which could make things worse.

It's really important to mention the dizziness to your doctor or neurologist, especially if it's affecting your daily life. They may want to:

- Review your current dosage
- Check for any interactions with other medications or substances
- Rule out other causes related to your epilepsy management

In the meantime, be cautious in situations where dizziness could put you at risk — like being near water, heights, or anything that requires steady balance. 💛
