@A MyEpilepsyTeam Member - I take CBD with two different seizure meds. My neuro doctor approves. Make sure you have a good source. I use Palmetto Harmony.

I take Innovative CBD, organic and third party tested. Plus there is bo glycerin or coconut in their tinctures. It doesn’t upset my stomach. Not all CBD is the same. Charlotte’s Web is another great company, and DragonFly & Cornbread is pretty good.

I have. It's one of the medicines i take with the most results! If you don't have a doctor's guidance for this you should get some... but if you don't... less is where to start! Minimum amount... for what his needs are... and that may be all he needs (you don't want him on to much of any medication anyway)! If he's still having seizures... up the dose.

CBD has shown real promise for seizure control, especially for certain types of epilepsy. The FDA has approved a prescription CBD medication called Epidiolex for children aged 2 and up with specific epilepsy syndromes, including:

- Dravet syndrome
- Lennox-Gastaut syndrome (LGS)
- Tuberous sclerosis complex (TSC)

CBD is generally recommended as an *add-on* treatment alongside existing anti-seizure medications, not as a full replacement. The best first step is talking to your son's neurologist. They can help determine if CBD is appropriate for his specific epilepsy type, recommend the right form (prescription vs. over-the-counter), and guide dosing to avoid interactions with any current medications.

A word of caution on over-the-counter CBD products — they are not FDA-regulated, meaning the actual CBD content may differ from the label, and some may contain unexpected ingredients like trace amounts of THC. Some side effects to be aware of include:

- Sleepiness
- Fatigue
- Diarrhea
- Decreased appetite

Starting the conversation with his doctor is truly the safest and most effective place to begin. 💙
