Members responded to a question about comfort and acceptance living with epilepsy, with many sharing that acceptance grew over time, especially after finding routines, faith, and community support. Several members described leaning on prayer, patience, and a positive daily mindset as key tools, while others were honest that full comfort is rarely constant and that challenges like unhelpful medical appointments and delayed support can make the journey harder. A recurring theme was taking life one day at a time, being open with others about the condition, and finding strength in faith and personal resilience.

I have accepted epilepsy as a part of me. I am comfortable and tell others around me so there are no surprises. The more I talk about it the more understanding people seem to be. When you try to hide it , people don’t know and don’t understand.

It’s a tough question. I have my moments of acceptance at times.

I'm always comfortable. I remember hearing that some people can outgrow epilepsy so I thought I would try that. It was pretty good that I was off meds for 6 years and had only 3 seizures. I think only 2 because I rolled off my single bed when sleeping - but didn't have a seizure then. I just fell onto the floor, which woke the people living below me in the house.

I like someone who posted taking one day at a time. Prayer 🙏🏽 it’s a challenge and could be worse. I try very hard to be positive but really have my moments to be honest.
