Members responded with deep empathy to someone who blacked out and fell after using the bathroom, sharing similar experiences of seizures in the shower or bathroom that led to injuries. Several members offered practical safety tips, including using a shower bench or seat, pool noodles on sharp table corners, alerting family members when something drops, and avoiding hot showers since heat can be a seizure trigger. A recurring theme was the importance of having support systems in place, whether a family member nearby, a medical alert device, or a plan to call for help quickly after a fall.

If he had seizures before being able to join a team, he might not be able to join, Otherwise, being hit on the head, even with a helmet could csuse seizures.

I am so sorry that happened to you. I can only imagine the pain you must be feeling. I am having sympathy pains. I worry about having a seizure in the shower all the time. Enough to make me want to just do a bird bath in the sink.

Patricia that could have been a blackout caused by a seizure

I agree no one really knows what we go through mentally and physically. I wonder if his seizures started because of all the hard knocks to his head or if he had epilepsy prior to playing football.

I had a seizure after sitting in the bathtub nursing a knee injury. Needed it hot to make a difference. We are all resistant to heat at different temperatures, but in my case the hot water raised my body temperature enough that it induced a seizure.
