hrs. and I think it worked on me. I’ve felt this way all day today. Although I did sleep pretty good last night for the first time in the last four days probably but I think that little bit of time that I was out away from home worked on me yesterday. I don’t know why though.

Why are you still feeling fatigued with weakness in your lower body after being out for a few hours?

It sounds like you're experiencing postictal fatigue, which is the recovery period after seizure activity. Even though you slept well last night, your body may still be recovering from recent seizures over the past few days.

Fatigue after seizures is often compared to running a marathon - your muscles are weak, everything hurts, and you feel exhausted. A MyEpilepsyTeam member shared: "I recently had several nocturnal seizures, and I am now very exhausted. It will take three days for my body to get back to normal. It takes so much out of you."

The physical activity of being out for a few hours, even if it seemed minor, can be draining when your body is already in recovery mode. Your muscles and nervous system need time to rebuild their strength.

Here are some things that might help:

- Give yourself permission to rest - recovery takes time, sometimes several days
- Stay hydrated and eat regular, healthy meals to maintain energy
- Avoid pushing yourself too hard physically until you feel stronger
- Track these patterns in a seizure diary to discuss with your doctor

If the weakness persists or worsens, especially if it's more pronounced in your lower body, it's important to contact your healthcare provider to rule out any complications.

If i have had a gran Mal seizure, it would take several days to bounce back. I'll sleep for 11 hous straight, eat like a pig and take a little nap. Fortunately I have not had one of those occurrences in years. It has been mostly absent seizures, walking, talking and cooking. Or when playing cards. Usually at the end of long day. It is unpredictable. Take care of ourselves and watch the medication bars at night, making sure to take them consistently. Ericthom3

Rhondaschnee, You know how I hate getting stuck in one place when this occurs with me. But the thing is it’s happening quite often anymore. I can’t get anything done when I’m stuck in one spot all day long. I do know I need to figure out a solution to resolve this problem. I’m even having problems trying to get up from a seated position. The strength has gone.

People with epilepsy often feel fatigued after sleeping because of fragmented sleep from nocturnal seizures, the sedative effects or side effects of Anti-Seizure Medications (ASM) , co-existing sleep disorders like 'sleep apnea' or insomnia and the body's natural recovery process (postictal state) after a seizure, leading to mental, physical, and cognitive exhaustion that sleep doesn't fully resolve.
