When I was on Keppra I had thoughts of harming myself and at times, others. I never acted on them but they were always there especially when I got angry. @A MyEpilepsyTeam Member, glad to hear you are off of Keppra (The Rage). Make sure you know the side effects of Depakote. Here is a link, https://www.drugs.com/depakote.html

My first SI was due to a seizure medication. Some ASM’s (anti-seizure medication.), cause thoughts of SI.. or they increase the thoughts.

This is a website that can tell you about most medications that are out there in this world. Their side effects and tendencies how they affect the body and the chemical make up. They can also help with medication, interactions, and warnings. I hope this helps.

Just to be clear, I have switched doctors. And they put me on Depakote which has worked wonders for me since we figured out the correct dosage. But what I hear you all saying is by informing any doctor of this is a good idea.

I have taken almost all seizure meds. . My parents had me in the ER for reactions to anaphylactic to mood changes. It is a balancing act. My body can take a lot now. The newer medications are better for me. Everyone is different! I thought I was a zombie at one time. I hope everyone finds the best medication(s)! I have had 2 surgeries. I hope everyone finds the best for them!
